In late spring/early summer 2024 we will be launching a series of themed 5S webinars.
These 5S webinars (each 2.5 hours in duration) and delivered on a monthly basis, will be structured as follows :
- Module 1 : Developing a Safe workplace.
- Module 2 : Efficiency gain through Organisation and Optimisation of the workplace.
- Module 3 : Reduced downtime through advanced asset care: “In-your-face Engineering”.
- Module 4 : Improved Quality through robust Visual management systems.
- Module 5 : Standardising the gains: Developing safe and optimised working procedures including the use of Augmented reality systems.

This is a practical course with just one action plan generated throughout the programme!
- Another unique feature of this initiative will be the continuation of an action plan throughout the programme.
- Templates to generate actions will be provided throughout and support will be offered individually to participants.
- A prioritised action plan developed in the first module to improve safety standards will be continually developed and enhanced by ideas generated during each subsequent module.
When will these training webinars take place?

Wednesday June 5th 2024 10.00-12.30
Wednesday July 3rd 2024 10.00-12.30
How is this programme structured for on-line delivery?
How the first 3 modules will be delivered…
The on-line training programme in 5S would be structured as follows:
Step 1 : Identify the 5S Target areas. Allocate a team to undertake the project for each area.
Step 2 : Training session 1 : Wednesday May 8th 2024 10.00 -12.30
Module 1 : Developing a Safe workplace.
2.5 hours online (including break).
Step 3 : The team then go away and review where the ideas outlined in Training session 1 could be applied in the target area using the templates (1) provided : 2 weeks.
Step 4 : Feedback on workplace safety improvement ideas generated, agree on what needs to be improved and develop a prioritised Excellence model action plan with defined responsibilities and dates.
A period of time is then allowed to implement the action plan.
This will vary by team and area.
Short 20-minute support sessions will be arranged with the team throughout this time.
Training session 2 : Wednesday June 5th 2024 10-12.30
Module 2 : Organisation and Optimisation of the workplace.
2.5 hours online (including break).
Step 5 : The team then go away and review where the ideas outlined in Training session 2 could be applied in the target area using the templates (2) provided : 2 weeks.
Step 6 : Feedback on workplace organisation and optimisation improvement ideas generated, agree on what needs to be improved and prioritised Excellence model action plan updated with the new ideas. Revised plan with updated responsibilities and dates agreed.
A period of time is then allowed to implement the action plan.
This will vary by team and area.
Short 20-minute support sessions will be arranged with the team throughout this time.
Training session 3 : Wednesday July 3rd 2024 10.00-12.30
Module 3 : Reduced downtime by improved Asset Care.
2.5 hours online (including break).
Step 7 : The team then go away and review where the ideas outlined in Training session 3 could be applied in the target area using the templates (2) provided : 2 weeks.
Step 8 : Feedback on asset care improvement ideas generated, agree on what needs to be improved and prioritised Excellence model action plan updated with the new ideas. Revised plan with updated responsibilities and dates agreed.
A period of time is then allowed to implement the action plan.
This will vary by team and area.
Short 20-minute support sessions will be arranged with the team throughout this time.
To be arranged:
Final session : Feedback on work completed, agree on finalised action plan :
1.5 hours online.
Total on-line contact time : 9 hours.
Programme timescale : 10-15 weeks.
Follow up support sessions can then be provided as required.
